Helping You Connect
Karen DiGeorgio is a communication-skills coach specializing in working with foreign-born nationals. She has thirty years of experience working with top technical, scientific, and business leaders to improve their communication skills to benefit their careers and the companies they serve. She has worked one-on-one intensively with numerous clients from multiple ethnic and cultural backgrounds.
Karen’s extensive speech and language training qualify her to help with all levels of language acquisition, voice, and varieties of pronunciation problems. In her diagnostic work, she delves into the many other potential causes of communication problems: voice projection; speech rate, timing, and stress; the order, coherence, and cohesion of communication, as well as grammatical and lexical competency.
Karen also coaches leadership presence, interpersonal skills, presentation, and writing skills. Her training combined with her strong understanding of learning styles and intercultural issues make her uniquely qualified to be a communications-skills coach for the foreign-born.
Karen has worked with several J&J companies, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Sterling Drug, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, NRG, and McGraw-Hill among others. She has worked successfully with high-potential technical people, senior scientists, various levels of management, and a foreign-born CEO of a high-tech company.
Karen works with individuals one-on-one and believes in working with her clients on their current communication needs. For example, she will coach an actual presentation before it is given and will work on a technical document prior to its release. Karen knows that these are teachable moments when clients will benefit the most from her help.
Karen is certified by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is licensed by the states of NJ and PA.
